Donations

Hello Families, Lake Bonavista School is looking for donations of board games, card games, puzzles and coloring books. If you have any gently used games that your family has outgrown, would you consider donating them to the school? We are particularly interested in ‘classic’ games, as well as any additional games or puzzles that are appropriate for approximately ages 5-12, multi-player, and support turn taking and collaboration. Please only send games complete with all pieces, and that do not require batteries, plugging in, or access to computers/tablets or other technology. Our wish-list includes, but is not limited to: Puzzles under 100 pieces Battleship Checkers Connect 4 Jenga Variations of Memory Chutes and Ladders Guess Who? Eye Found It! LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!! WINTER BREAK!!!

Today was a good day,  We got to watch the Grinch, we also drew pictures of the Grinch, finally we did a Venn diagram comparing the book to the movie. We did caroling, we showed our buddies how to do an art walk.  DO NOT COME TO SCHOOL TOMORROW! ! Have an awesome winter break!!!!!!! Tuesday December 17

Hello everybody today was a good day. We did caroling after lunch. Some lucky students got a prize if they sold coupon books. Most of us are almost done our bridges. Hopefully we will be able to test them on Thursday. In math we were doing rounding up and down to estimate the answers to addition equations. Ms. Adamson demonstrated with the stamp game. 

Monday December 16

Today we drew Christmas elves at the end of the day. Thursday we have Festive Sweater Day to celebrate our last day of school before Winter Break!!!

Friday December 13

Today we had a good pajama day, We did science in the morning after we went to gym. In science we were building our bridges and 2 groups are finished. In gym we played Dr. Dodgeball. We worked on editing our social studies. We also had finish up/free time. After science was snack, the best part of the day. We worked on our beginnings writing for our super hero story- we have to write at least 2 beginnings, but 3 or more would be even better! We did a reflection about mosaic sky art. 

Thursday December 12th, 2019

Hello everybody today was a good day, Today we did our dress rehearsal for the winter concert. Don't forget we are performing at 7:30. We got to watch the 6:00 show perform, it was good but too much sitting; hopefully it's not too much sitting when you come watch our performance. Some people presented their social studies presentations, now we are editing before we send Ms. Adamson our presentation. We have been going outside for gym. We did science this morning we have a bulletin board for you to see. We have art projects on the wall in the gym for you to see. They're on the left side of the gym they're beautiful blue and white. Tomorrow is pajama day so don't forget to wear your pajamas.

Wednesday December 11

Today was a good day Today, in the afternoon, we did our dress rehearsal for our winter concert. Remember the winter concert is tomorrow, don't forget your tickets. Some of us presented our social studies projects, we will finish presenting tomorrow. We finished our art, it will be up for display in the gym tomorrow! Make sure you have a look. In writing we talked about writing good beginnings. Grade 4s got an extra problem in math using estimation and rounding to do multiplication. We talked about using a number-line to help up round our numbers, ask me to show you how! 

December 10, 2019

Hi, today was a good day. We did art, we are making mosaic art. It is starting to take shape, you will be able to see it Thursday at our winter concert. We have been rehearsing our songs, ask me about it! In math we are working on ESTIMATION and ROUNDING up and down. We are working on our bridges, most of them are almost ready for testing. The concert is on Thursday and we are coming home with tickets today.  AARCS Fundraiser Rooms 12, 16, 13 and 4 are doing another fundraiser this year to raise money for the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS). During the daytime and evening winter concert shows on Thursday, December 12th, we will be selling homemade Crunchy Tuna Cat Treats and Wowbutter Banana Dog Bites. Each bag will cost $3 and all proceeds will go towards AARCS to help ensure the animals in their care have their basic necessities this holiday season. December 6th

Today was a wonderful day.  We made art. It is a winter tree on a winter sky. It is not finished, we will be working more on this next week.  We did our word work quiz today. We also continued our science which is bridge building.  Happy WEEKEND!!!!!!

December 5th 2019

Hello everyone, Today was a good day in room 2.  We did science; we are building bridges and having lots of fun being engineers. We learned about the Engineering process- ask me what are the steps! We are writing about superheroes, focusing on setting and character description.  In math we are working on problem solving using graphing and a variety of addition, as well as multiplication for Grade 4s, strategies. Yesterday we had our mobile escape room. We have been writing about our favorite part and how we worked well as a team. We will be doing painting tomorrow, try to  dress accordingly. Notice from our school: Our school is participating in the 31 st   Annual Mayor’s Food Drive. We will be accepting non-perishable food items for donation to the Calgary Food Bank at all of the performances and throughout December until December 19. Thank you for your generous donations.
