Monday March 30th

Hello everyone, I hope you have all been staying safe and enjoying time with your families. I am missing you all so much and am looking forward to hearing from you all on how you have been doing over the past couple of weeks. I hope you have all been making an effort to get outside every day, read every day and keep learning. All of the teachers at Lake Bonavista School, including myself, are working to create an e-learning model so that we can continue to teach you even though you are not here with us. I will be keeping in contact and updating you through emails and blog posts as to what the future of LBS student learning will look like and how I can best support you through this difficult time. Please do not hesitate to contact me if there is anything you need (email: paadamson@cbe.ab.ca) or share any awesome learning that you have done the past two weeks. I would be so excited to see and hear what you all have been doing- share with me from your google drive (paadamson@educbe.ca).

Friday March 13, 2020

Hello everybody, today was a great day! Today we got to make sculptures out of play d'oh. We had to 'edit' our creations, just like we edit our writing. We are coming home with our play d'oh to show you. We did some science. We went on a scavenger hunt for simple machines around the school, we each found at least one of each! This morning we made little cards about multiplication showing strategies. We are going to make a math 'concept map' for our wall.  Try to stay healthy by.... washing your hands, social distancing, stay away from big crowds.  HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND!

Conferences postponed

LBS School Conferences Dear Families, Based on the changing provincial and local response to COVID-19, the CBE has given us direction to postpone our Student Led Conferences on March 19 and 20, 2020. All CBE schools have been given direction to postpone or cancel events that include populations from other schools and/or parents or other community members, such as Parent-Teacher Interviews, celebrations of learning, drama/musical performances, dances, athletic competitions, etc. This decision is effective from Mar. 12 until the end of March break. This decision will be revisited during March break to determine whether events should be rescheduled. Events outside of school hours that include the regular student and staff population of the school (school clubs, practices, etc) and scheduled field trips may continue at this time.   I know this may be disappointing news. Students and staff have spent a significant amount of time preparing for this event, but the health of o
