September 30th

We started our new word work today. We got to sort them today.

Today was Orange Shirt Day. We discussed what it would be like to not be allowed to go to school near our families and not be able to speak our first languages. We then wrote one thing we couldn't imagine life without on our shirt that we cut out, coloured orange and glued into our visual journals.

We began our problem of the week in math. We looked at a graph and we had to read it. There was also an open ended question where we were given an answer and asked to provide as many answers as possible.

I'm requesting that our Grade 3's bring headphones to school tomorrow. They may need them for a few days this week. We are going to do a math and literacy activity (informal assessment) on the computers and the students may require headphones to hear some of the questions. I have talked to the class about how this is for me to know what they remember from Grade 2 and where they may need extra help for Grade 3.

This Friday is blue and white day. Remember to wear something with blue and white on Friday.

Please remember that your ADmazing Savings are due back next Thursday.

Tuesday October 1st (tomorrow) is picture day. Come to school with your best smile!
